Christmas is Coming!!!!!

Gosh the weather is really a pain at the moment - however a welcome distraction from the state of economy etc!!
Anyway am just about to put my 2nd item up for sale on ETSY - caridesign.etsy.com - a light blue baby beanie hat and mittens - really cute - will add a pic in a few minutes.
Am trying to get clear headspace and physical space to pick up my sewing again. I have a few nice patterns and some nice Amy Butler fabric that I want to try out.
And then to finally figure out which direction Cari Design is going to go in!!!!!
Back soon

Birthday

Hi 33 today and I feel every bit of it - funny how birthdays become less as time goes on - I not sure what 'less' they become but they definitely do!!!!!!
My sis-in-law's birthday tomorrow so hope she likes her hat & scarf!!

Finished

Finally finished off my sister-in-law's birthday hat and scarf in a lovely cosy red wool. Also finished the baby hat so will put up pictures later today hopefully.
A grand day today in Westport - not raining, a little on the chilly side but bearable.

Found it, Found it!!!!!!!!!

Why is it that when you lose something it is somewhere you can never imagine you would have put it!!!!!!!!!!!!
Found my camera charger so it is all ready to go and I should have some photos up here of my crafting exploits later today or tomorrow!!!

Colourful Baby Hats

So I am in the middle of another (!) baby hat - lilac and raspberry pink. It looks cute but I am not quite finished with it yet - not sure whether to put a pom-pom, tassle or plain finish on it - it's quite the conundrum!!!!

My neighbour is due to give birth to her third baby soon and I am trying to decide what to make for the baby - hat & mittens, blanket or something different.
Also to decide on colours, they are having a girl so I am thinking maybe white cotton hat with mittens but with some pink running through it - also have some nice yellow wool but that is not a colour to suit everyone.

I also am keen to get going on my next bag - I have a lovely pattern from Sew Liberated and material that I bought in Pippa Blue the last time I was there - so I am all set just need to get going.

I am thinking of starting my days at 6.30 - so I at least will have a little time to set up my sewing area. Up at 6.30, workout til 7am, then shower, down and make up bottles for the little angel, up and get her up at 7.30 and begin the day so that when she goes down for her nap I can go straight into it.

Not sure how that will work out but will keep you posted.
Still haven't found my camera charger its getting rather annoying now!

Sewing - I made a bag!!!!

On Sunday October 3rd last I went to Pippa Blue in Galway and lucky for me was the only one attending a bag making class. I had 4 hours of tuition, advice, help and guidance from the lovely Ger & Eva.

I purchased a sewing machine a few months ago and had not gone near it at all until the night before the class to pack it all into the car!

At the end of the class I could work my sewing machine, I had a bag that I will definitely use and a sense of pride in myself and achievement that I had done it!

I didn't know if I would like sewing but turns out I do like it a lot!!

So another craft to add to my pile and hopefully they will all take me somewhere!!! I will post pictures of my bag as soon as I get my camera working!!!

New Beginnings

I am hoping that this blog will be the start of something beautiful!
I hope to make lovely handmade kiddies accessories - hats, scarves, mittens, booties - along with homemade and handsewn mummy accessories along with some other fun stuff!
Along to way I will share my insights (for those who may be interested!) and information about sewing, knitting and crafting and the odd picture!
Any and all comments welcome, information, advice and just chat - here's hoping that maybe some friendships will be made.
I will be back soon with more information, fun stuff and pictures.
Bye
